After I won the very long battle with the
migraine headaches, I wrote this poem.
Book:  Not Tonight...I Have a Headache!   A twenty year battle with the crippling and unforgiving migraine headaches.

Write On!   "This is the worst final paper I've ever seen!  If you don't turn in another one, Jerry, you won't complete the course."  Those were the words of one of my writing instructors.
Taking a Bath:  The sprinklers came on during an
outdoor arts and crafts show, and we all took a bath.
Smoking Sucks:  I quit smoking in 1975, and I'll tell you
how I did it.

How I saved my dog Daniel
It takes courage to move away from home; change jobs; start a family or express your ideas, etc.  This writing piece has been published more times around the Internet than any other of my writing pieces.
We took our boys to a Halloween party at the local elementary school, and it was one of the funniest nights of my life! Humor

in the Oval Office; Rose Garden...or elsewhere...with the ever-watchful eye of the Secret Service agent just

As if I did't have my hands full teaching myself to carve wood, I
had to stick my nose into the difficult field of writing as well.
(I must be crazy!)

My background is out of the art and craft world, and not out of the
writing world.  I was not on the high school or college newspaper
staff...nor did I major in English; journalism, or communications.
So, I'm a newbie in the field of writing.

After being invited to join the Southwest Writers Workshop, by the
then President of the organization, I was flattered!  With over 1,000
members all over the country, S.W.W. has some of the most
talented and accomplished writers in the world.

Later, I took three writing courses and classes, to try to improve
my writing skills and included:  (Courses)  Writer's Digest  Course; The National Writers Club Course;  Classes-at the University of New Mexico included:  Creative Writing; Write To Sell;
